Personal Profile

Ashley is a Doctoral Candidate in the Lab for Socio-Ecological Transformation of Urban Mobility (SET-Mobility) at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, Germany as a member of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network TRANSFORM. Her PhD research examines opportunities and barriers in multi-level transportation governance structures towards sustainable mobility transformation.

She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Urban Planning and Design from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stokcholm, Sweden and completed her thesis comparing the mental models of municipal transportation carbon emission planners and road safety planners in the Scandinavian capital cities. Prior to this, she worked at an electric utility company in the United States doing corporate sustainability, environmental policy, and electric transportation, which provided a foundation for her PMP certification. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in the US, where she completed research projects about comparing international perceptions of climate change between China and the US and assessing local support for climate and energy initiatives.

Career Aspirations
